The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 10012 on 2/5/10, as the stock market fell on more European debt fears but staged a huge snap back rally in the final two hours. The Dow Jones Futures were down around 20 points in pre market but fell as much as 160 points going into the afternoon. The S&P 500 hit 1050 support and then reversed 12 points going into the close.

The big reversal we saw this afternoon was a classic short covering rally that happens near the end of a stock market sell off. We will have to see if there is any follow through next week. Once these European debt fears go away, I think the stock market will move higher. February and March are historically two horrible months for the stock market but we usually will see a turnaround starting April 1st. After all, the start of April is the start of a new quarter for most companies.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) is trading around $193 in pre market after the jobs data was released. The stock held $190 in pre market which is bullish but we have a long day ahead of us. Resistance continues to be located at the 10 day moving average which will be around $197 when the stock opens today. I plan to add to my long position when Apple closes back above this level using a stop loss order at $190.

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd (EXM), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. Stocks to Watch - 2/5/10 - Stock Market Investing Ideas

Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (CYCC) - Shares of Cyclacel Pharmaceuticals, Inc. were up over 10% on Thursday after an upgrade from Roth Capital. If the market wasn't down so much, the stock would have gone a lot higher. I plan to buy the stock the next time it breaks up through the high of the day. Resistance $2.44

Conolog Corp. (CNLG) - CNLG was also on fire Thursday morning but then broke through the low of the day and tanked. This is a stock worth watching into next week given the huge swings. I plan to buy the stock the next time it breaks above the high of the day.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - SIRIUS XM Radio Inc almost tested $0.80 before bouncing during the afternoon. The 10 day moving average is now located at $0.80 so this would be a great area to start buying if you like SIRI right now.

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - RIMM briefly spiked above $68 Thursday but then the sellers took over. I would be a buyer of a pullback to $64 which is where the 50 day moving average is located.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) - AMD broke below $7.50 again as the stock market tanked. The next buy zone for a bounce is located between $6.75 - 7.00.

Alcoa, Inc. (AA) - Aloca is trading back below the 10 day moving average. I would be a buyer of any pullback to the 200 day moving average located at $12.36 with a stop at $12.23.

American Intl Group, Inc. (AIG) - AIG fell below the $23 support level on Thursday. At this point, the stock could easily fall to $20 or lower if the stock market continues to drop. However, I now plan to buy AIG when it breaks above the $24.50 resistance level and add on a break above $26.02.

Bank of America Corp (BAC) - Bank of America Corporation fell back below $15 on Thursday. Support is now located at $14.71 which is the 200 day moving average as well as $14.11 which was the previous low. BAC hasn't traded below the 200 day moving average since July 2009.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAZ was on fire Thursday as the stock market broke down. FAS broke blow $63.80 on Thursday which showas bearish but we are seeing a nice bounce in pre market. A great buy would be to buy below $60 but if I see FAS rip through the high of the day on Friday, I plan to buy as well.

Freddie Mac (FRE) - Support = $1.12 - Resistance = $1.28

Fannie Mae (FNM) - Support = $0.91 - Resistance $1.04

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 2/5/10 are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.228% & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.250%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.173%. As you can see, Libor Rates changed today, February 5, 2010. While the overnight & 3 month libor rates went higher, the 1 month libor rate stayed the same.
